membership option, we now represent
over 12,000 PR professionals. This
makes us the largest professional body
for PR practitioners not just in the UK,
but in Europe. Our action in promoting
the PR apprenticeship scheme;
running our campaign for interns to
be paid; and victory over the NLA in
the Supreme Court have allowed us
to achieve the vision we set out three
years ago –of being the pre-eminent,
undisputed voice of PR in the UK.
Through our management of ICCO,
in 29 countries around the world, we
are also providing that leadership on
a truly international scale –and in so
doing, helping to position the UK as
the global hub of PR excellence.
There is, of course, much more to
do. But after six years of continuous
growth, and with a track record
of standing up for the industry we
represent, the PRCA has the skill and
the drive to achieve even more in the
future. So watch this space – and
watch as this Directory grows larger
and larger.
Francis Ingham MPRCA
PRCA Director General &
ICCO Chief Executive
In the year since we last published the
PR Directory, the PRCA has grown
signifi cantly –and I’m glad to say that
the industry has too. The past few
years have been diffi cult for those who
work in PR –growth has been there,
but it’s been hard-won. Every Pound
spent on PR has had to be justifi ed
to clients and colleagues rightly
conscious of costs. And every piece
of new business has been chased by
more agencies than ever before.
Nonetheless, our research data
shows us that the recovery is defi nitely
here. Consultancies are growing. In
house teams are growing. People
are confi dent enough in the future to
be moving jobs again. Employers are
investing in skills development. Now
doubtless there will be bumps along
the way. But we have excellent cause
for optimism –and given PR grew in
a downturn, it should face a recovery
with confi dence. Our challenge now is
better to prove the value of what we
do; to own social media; to move from
the tactical to the strategic. All of these
things are achievable, and the PRCA is
determined to play our part in making
those goals realities.
2013 saw the PRCA grow even more.
With dozens of new corporate in
house members and consultancies,
and with the success of our individual

PRCA Chairman
CEO for Grayling UK & Ireland
If you’re looking at this directory, you
probably work in PR – or you may
be making your fi rst steps into the
profession. Either way, this is a good
time to be here.
The PR industry is growing – the
PRCA’s PR Census 2013 revealed that
it has grown by over £2bn in just two
years. This is not only refl ected in the
size and revenues of PR agencies, but
also the size and budgets of in-house
communications teams.
The industry is growing, but it’s also
maturing. The skills that PR agencies
now bring to bear in digital and social
media are far broader than they were
just a few years ago.
But it’s also a complex world – there
are so many agencies to consider, so
many in-house teams to approach,
and so many individuals to choose
from for specialist freelance work, that
you may not know where to start.
So, you may need a little help
navigating this brave new world of
communications. That help is sitting
in your hands. The aim is for this
Directory to be used as a quick and
easy reference tool, which will sit on
every Communications Director or
agency head’s desk.
Everyone in this book is a PRCA
member, and that stands for quite
a lot. It’s an indication that a PR
practitioner is decent, professional and
above board.
The [enter number here] PR agency
members in this book are all ratifi ed
by the PRCA Communications
Management Standard, so they’ve
proved their professionalism to a level
which is recognised in 17 countries
around the world. All of the entrants,
be they agency, in-house or freelance,
are also tied into the PRCA’s Codes of
Conduct and Professional Charter.
What all of this means is that we’ve
done a little bit of the hard work for
you.
