Aug 07 The North Aurora Baggo Classic
Players & Charity Big Winners At Upcoming North Aurora Days Bags Tournament - Fundraiser will donate proceeds in addition to awarding $1,100 in cash prizes.

North Aurora Days festival is offering a new event that is looking to make a big impact in its first appearance. The North Aurora Baggo Classic is a 32 team, double-elimination bean bag tournament.
"Just about everybody has thrown bags in the backyard or while tailgating before a game. It's something you're likely to see at any party you go to. We wanted to add this very popular activity to the roster of entertainment that people have come to expect at North Aurora Days."

While pride is usually the only thing on the line in those backyard battles, the North Aurora Baggo Classic is offering $1,100 in cash prizes to teams finishing first through fourth. The top team at the end of the tournament will receive $500. Players must be at least 18 years old.

The players are not the only ones who will benefit from this event. After the tournament concludes, the boards used during the competition will be raffled off with the proceeds going to the Goodwin Elementary School Elves. The Elves are an organization dedicated to donating gifts, clothing and other necessities to local families in need.

Aug 19 Opportunities with International Trade - Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce

In 2008, Illinois exported $53.4 billion in manufactured goods, which supported more than 409,000 manufacturing jobs. That year, Illinois exported $7.5 billion in agricultural products which supported more than 86,800 agricultural jobs. In one year, Illinois exports more than $16 billion in services. Foreign companies employ more than 243,000 workers in our state.

And, smaller businesses in Illinois benefit from trade. Nearly 90% of the 15,607 Illinois companies that exported goods in 2007 were small and medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 500 employees.

Illinois’ top export markets in 2008 were Canada ($14.9 B), Mexico ($4.2 B), China ($2.5 B), Australia ($2.4 B) and Japan ($2.4 B). Opportunities for small business are available.
The Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce is interested in assisting our business members interested in international trade. Join us for a program featuring representatives from the US Chamber of Commerce, US Department of Commerce, Illinois Trade Office and local businesses involved in international trade.
