Career Objective
The form, function and variation of animals have always fascinated me. My research
focuses on two fronts the micro and macro evolution of animals. I apply phylogenetic
and comparative genomic tools to study these issues. I am also interested in taxonomy,
systematics and conservation of freshwater fishes of the Western Ghats. I believe in
excellent basic science training which would equip students to take up interesting
research topics in biology. Excellence is my goal, in research, teaching and learning.
