Short description of the event
The international conference covered a broad area of topics in
(goals, expected results, agenda): the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate
change. The 3-day long conference (with nearly 100
presentations) is one of the biggest Bulgarian events on these
subjects. It aims to introduce the new developments in the
fields of renewables, energy efficiency and climate change to
a broad range of energy professionals.
Target group(s): Managers and energy experts in enterprises
                Decision-makers from the State Government
               Representatives of Universities
Number of participants: 65
English summary of Minutes and The conference was subject to wide media coverage.
Results: The presentation of ROSH was on 17th May 2008, within the
        third panel, entitled “Energy efficiency and renewables: The
         role of Energy Efficiency for the Reduction of the Greenhouse
        Gasses”.
         ROSH was presented by the BSREC expert and associate
        professor at the Technical University–Sofia, Dr. Nikola
         Kaloyanov.

Short description of the event
The seminar introduced the programmes and best practices
(goals, expected results, agenda): related to improvement of the energy efficiency to the
municipality decision-makers. The objective was to prepare
these decision-makers for their role in the management of the
energy aspects in the building refurbishment processes and in
the improvement of the energy efficiency in industry.
The seminar started with presentations of guidelines for the
development of the mandatory municipal energy efficiency
plans and guidelines for application to the structural funds.
The main part of the seminar was dedicated to the energy
audits and certification of the municipal buildings and
industries.
Target group(s): Decision-makers from municipalities in South Bulgaria

Results: focused specifically on the energy performance of buildings,
        particularly:
Building certification in compliance with Energy
Efficiency Law. Mr. M.Dakev presented all norms of
this law and the 4 ordinances related to it.
Practical results from the energy audits and
certification in buildings. Mr. M.Dakev presented case
studies and lessons learnt from the Bulgarian
experience.
Presentation of a company performing energy audits of
buildings;
Presentation of project ROSH. Mr. Ognjan Markovski
made an overview of the project objectives and
activities and introduced briefly the project results
available to date.

SOFENA
The aim of the conference was to cooperate the efforts of
universities, research centers, construction companies, design
desks and small and medium enterprises in the installation
sector for popularization of low energy and passive buildings
and innovative energy efficient solutions and systems.
Some of the topics were:
Passive and low energy buildings;
Thermal insulation systems for buildings;
Integration of energy efficient solutions in new and
renovated buildings;
Integration of renewable energy sources in new and
renovated buildings;
Innovative solutions for energy efficiency and
renewable energy sources;
Building management systems, heating, ventilation
and air conditioning systems;
Solar installations, heat pumps and biomass
installations;
Ensuring of the quality of installation of energy efficient
solutions and exploitation of building systems and
installations.
Target group(s): Managers and energy experts, architects, engineers, market
                actors
Presentation of ROSH project: Noemy Moumdjian (BSREC) made an overview of the project
                             objectives and activities and introduced the project results.
