Honours Awarded “Honourable Bulgarian 2004” Awarded for his charitable activities as the co-ordinator of SASHA (Staffordshire Ambulance Staff Humanitarian Aid)-England. Dr. Ognyan Milev is a highly experienced general surgeon. He has more than 20 years experience in elective and emergency operations in the field of abdominal and general surgery. His skilfulness led him to the position of a leader of an emergency operating team responsible for his Hospital and for the Hospitals in the whole of the Vidin County.

 Present Position 1

    Individual contract with NHIF (the National Health Insurance Fund) Bulgaria.

    Consults the General Practitioners in the region as regards the surgical patients.

    Makes minor and one-day surgery.

Present Position 2

     Consultant Surgeon in Kula Hospital (a town near to Vidin)

    Makes elective and emergency operations in the Kula Hospital.

Present Position 3

    Third mandate Vice Chair of the Vidin branch of BMA (the Bulgarian Medical Association).

    Maintains the register of 476 physicians in Vidin County

    Gives work permit and follows up the qualifications of the physicians

    Protects the physician’s rights in front of NHIF

    Considers ethic issues of the profession
