Residency Special Features:   This PGY1 Residency Program is designed to provide post-graduate pharmacists with the experience and mentoring needed to perform as competent, pro-active clinicians in tomorrow's challenging healthcare environment. The program emphasizes evidence-based clinical practice and medication safety with rotations in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care (MICU & SICU), Hematology/Oncology, General Medicine, Ambulatory Care (longitudinal), Medication Safety (longitudinal), Drug Information and Pharmacy Practice Management. Motivated individuals will have an opportunity to elect rotations in Cardiology, Clinical Informatics, Infectious Diseases, MICU, Neonatal Intensive Care, Nutrition Support, Pharmacoeconomics, and Surgical Intensive Care/Trauma. Teaching Certification and ACLS/BLS Certification are also offered. Competence in professional and cultural diversity is fostered by providing a multitude of practice models, diverse patient population and a multicultural work environment.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   US citizenship or equivalent, PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited college, eligibility for licensure in Illinois, transcript, three letters of recommendation from clinical faculty or employers, on-site interview.
